Keystroke POS Returns
Keystroke POS – How to Do Returns
Keystroke gives you 3 easy ways to process returns.
Choose the one that matches your situation.
1. Quick Return (for cash, check, or other NON–credit card payments)
Use this when you are returning a single item or several items, and the original payment was not a credit card.
Steps:
- Ring up the item(s) just like a normal sale.
- In the Qty field, enter a negative quantity (example: -1).
- Choose the payment type (cash, check, gift card etc.).
- Complete the transaction.
This will create a return and subtract the item from inventory.
2. Return the Entire Original Invoice Steps:
1. Go to: Transaction → Delete/Void → Void (Reverse) → Sales Invoice
2. Search by invoice number, date, or any other option.
3. Highlight the invoice you want to return and press Enter.
4. If the system asks to process, select OK.
5. Print if needed.
Keystroke will automatically create two invoices:
· The original sale
· A matching return (the reversed invoice)
3. Credit Card Returns (returning to the card)
Use this when the customer paid by credit card and is returning one or more specific items, not the full invoice.
Steps:
- Go to: Transaction → Returns
- Enter the invoice number.
- The list of items from that sale will appear.
- Highlight the item(s) you want to return and press Save.
- Keystroke creates a new return invoice with those items.
- If it was paid by credit card, the refund will automatically go back to the same card.
- Press OK and print the receipt if needed.
5. Credit Memo
1. Select from the menu customer Customer> Entry or Press F8 on a keyboard or Select the customer lookup button
2. Create the negative return sales
3. Select payment type on Account
